1980 Long version
by Robert Hedges
80/2/ = an anonymous voice on the phone (possibly R. M. Cootes, sometimes the local Spencer County Attorney) = "you weren't going down he drain...everybody had to shove you . . . "
80/2/ = Jim Bennett said "I'm not afraid of sodding around . . ".He is local farmer/engineer, son-in-law of Cecil Day on the next farm, and buyer of several acres of the Hedges Farm at auction. I shall not surmise to suggest what he intended by this statement.
80/2/ = Jerry Bricko said "it was us that gave it to you . . .
we got her to
give you some more of it.."
Gave me some of what ? I was
thinking of some
drug at that point. [later] Rnow everyone thinks IUm a fagS
Robert thought
he meant by association with him, but he could have meant by his
own acts or
words, which Robert cannot be familiar with. He circulated around
the
neighborhood and introduced himself to all as a friend of the
Hedges rather than a
firewood gatherer.
80/2/ = Marci Cook said ..." if she had only kept her mouth shut . . . we had everything going our way . . . "well . . you did drugs" (Expressly saying that they have intentions of harm toward me, is evidence that she does not like me, regardless of lying eyes and past activities)
80/2/ = At the yearly Fairgrounds Tractor show, Bernard Lilly said " you'll never get anything on us . . . you might as well forget it . . . "
80/2/- Bardstown Burger Queen clerk, "it's your sisters everybody keeps hearing from..."
80/3/ = Robert Hedges was at University of Louisville. An unnamed DPBChurch member/married grad. student at UnivLou approached him and said . . " still fagging around ". . . "[ this student had an unfriendly attitude, and definitely intended to insult]
80/3/ = Robert Hedges was in a Convenient in Mt. Washington in 1980, and was told by a less than desirable smiling older woman ' it's us . . . us that married to the bad ones . . . " [ does this mean that the women who know that their menfolk are TbadU get to conspire to effect the live of others who may not afflicted, possibly for their own financial gain. Human nature is such that most actions are for gain.]
80/4/ = J.T.Johnson said." everybody is blaming us . . . I'm bad . . . " [ day of the field fire in early 1980, with Fire Dept. nearby....
80/4/ = Leon Bentley said. . . " it was Cootes . . . we had to catch you practicing . . . its a big talk, its a big talk, before this is over we're gonna know everythin' you ever done. R . . ."[ these men caused the premature demise of Robert's parents, Houston G. Hedges and Catherine R. G. Hedges, and have purchased property from the estate. The stress which they were subjected to is a direct cause of the medical difficulties which killed each. Robert tried to prevent or reduce their stress at all times. Others did not have that goal in mind.
80/4/ = Unidentified Jefferson County Policeman at Hikes Point while driving/patrolling/living off Brown's Lane. Robert spoke to this stranger from auto to auto for some forgotten reason. He said "you're bad".
80/4/ = Prof. Susan Matarese said = "It was us, we can't undo it . . . the subject is Sodomy & homosexuality . . . we're going to do it to you . . . " [18usca245 violated here] This occurred in Am Political Thought class, and Robert replied with " we'll fire him . . get him out of here . . .you canUt have someone here lusting after what ever he lusting after" . Prof. Matarese said later "It's us now, we're going to make you a never-mount-to-nothing" Robert responded with You'll never make me a never amount to nothing no matter who ya' are".
80/4/ = Prof. Dowell . . . " it was us . . . you had too much self-respect [publicly in class] . . . [privately out of class] it's your age . . " This is an 18usca245 violation. This Professor is in Political Science at UnivLou. This occurred in front of the class of students. Robert spoke with her on the phone later and she said " you can't prove collusion."
80/4/ = Woman working in the Federal Bldg. " we liked Pritchett.." [Welby Pritchett, s/o a civil servant in the Veterans Affairs Dept. in the Federal Building, is a former brother-in-law of Kentucky State Trooper Mike Pratt, who is class of 1968 from Fern Creek High and assigned to Taylorsville.]
80/4/ = Michelle Johnson " they used a hypodermic needle" . . . . [later] " it's in your lungs . . . ".
80/5/ = Curt at DPBChurch. "we did it to her so she couldn't say you're good..." [that girl far away] Who was the girl far away.
80/5/ = J.T. Johnson " we didn't want to ask the girls....". [ this statement seems to imply that privacy is not allowed in this community.
80/5?/ = Clerk at Foxes Grocery on Hwy. 44 at the Spencer Co line and wife of local Taylorsville Policeman. "the bug is just where you think it is..." Is this an admission of a known 18usca2511 violation or is this an effort to use a play on words against Robert.
80/5/ = Doug Yates said. . ."it's your father, he's trying to fag you . . . when someone begins to act like that it's time to leave . . " This is not considered reliable by Robert because Houston does not know these people. Who knows whom one is hearing from in this situation. How simple to cause a confrontation or wreck a business.? Doug is a Corvette mechanic in Elizabeth town KY, with his own shop. Robert sold him a 1957 Corvette disassembled, in 1974. and had been acquainted with him for a number of years.
80/5/ = Catherine Hedges said, " Rev Sharp called Nancy, Nancy called Ella, Ella called me R and you've been running around threatening to kill someone from church . . . " you need to see a psychiatrist . . "
80/5/19 = Ditch witch theft complaint......#A70029 for the theft dated 80/5/17 = Robert had his hands full taking care of business. No results.
80/6/ = Anthony Travis. said " it's just pokin fun "....[as he made a vulgar gesture, called the wong] " it wasn't us . . . it was them " [pointing to Floyd Scroggins].....[later, on another occasion he said ] .Swe did it to David Haan . . ." [ local farmer and Jefferson County Police Department Heliocopter Pilot - what does Tdid it to' mean ?
80/6/ = Little Jimmy Stevens "we knocked you to the Broaddus', the Broaddus' knocked you to Eli Brown...." [Eli Brown IV, brother Randolph Brown with an heirloom Bloomfield farm and a brother-in-law, Judge Charles Allen of US District Court, Louisville].
80/6/ = Veterans Administration Application for $33,000.....no loan, long term credit needed......
80/ / = Steve Cook came to the farm and then said " you are a no account". Imagine, they have even convinced his nephew of some falsehood. It is not healthy to have emotional ties with those you cannot depend upon.
80/ / = Billy Winburne, "the girls listened to Marci . . . the guys listened to Doug [Fleckler]. . . ".
80/6/ = Morris Bush, Fern Creek businessman . . . "it was us that worth accounted ourselves . . . we're doing it for the Cooks " .
80/6/ = Clerk at Foxes Grocery, . . . "Driscoll put it in . . "he said he put it in for us . . . but it looks like he put it in for them . ." [Robert thought at the time, put what in . . the bug?, but now wonders about some publicity via short wave or newspaper.]
80/6/ = Male clerk at Whayne Supply, bulldozer parts house . . " you were all the talk . . . Wohlbold is all the talk now . . " [ see situations chapter. ]
80/6/ = Ella CHD said ="It's vice, it's the vice squad . . . ". Sure, just like it was auto theft. A person who commits no crime cannot be frightened by these methods. The innocent cannot be threatened by such vague and stupid allegations.
80/6/ = Pretty clerk at Kroger in Bardstown . . " No tenant ever gets to do it to their landlord R ItUs the Daileys" . . .
80/6/ = Clerk at 62 Auto Parts in Leitchfield . . "It was Kenny Cook . .he said you only did it once. . " . ."we have our own sting going . . .
". 80/7/ = Harlan Brown said " They all wanted to get you . . . I can't believe they treated you like that . . . never told you what this was all about..."
80/7/ = Clerk at a Convenient store in Middletown..." you're up against a crooked county . . . ". 80/7/ = Older woman clerk in Convenience Bardstown . ."you're no account for any of us"
80/7/ = Clerk at a Convenient store in Leitchfield . . "the girl next door made you what you are today . . . ".
80/7/ = A clerk [a Thelma Stovall look-alike] at a Convenient in Georgetown, Kentucky...." it was us . . we just wanted to know who knocked us down.."
80/7/ = Robert occasionally purchased scrap steel from Seamco steel fabrication. The foreman there said . . . "first we were doing it for the Wetzelbergers . . then we were doing it for the Kotheimers . . . then we were doing it for the gluesniffers . . . we're not doing it anymore . . . you hear me . . . we're not doing it any more . . . " What were they doing ?
80/8/22 = Dr. Petty gave Robert a check-up. John came along later and said " He says you are bad" Robert later challenged him to define "bad" and reminded him that it is a violation of the statutes to make negative statements about a patient. The real problem is that third-hand witnesses are not going to confess, testify or even prove the source of a rumor.
80/8/ = O.J.Huffman, from Huffman's Bait Hut & Shell. " it's us right here . . . we kept talking about them bad friends of yours . . . we tried to get you fired . . . "[ these folks once told me they grew up poor and hating those who were believed to be wealthy. ]
80/8/ = Young woman who clerks at Down's Market, at Coxes Creek = " It's called running you into the ground . . . "well, I guess you know who I was helping now . . . I was helping the Daileys . . . we're just alike . ".
80/ / = Leon Bentley said "We can break any will. " This seems like a threat, and in-fact seems like meddling by a business compeditor.
80/8/ = Curtis Bentley said "We'er gonna sue you . . "......Absent facts or witnesses, this is a hollow threat.
80/8/ = Les Bailey, chief local Land Bank Loan Officer......".You got a lot of aces don't you." This refers to a conversation with Petie Day when the discussion leaned toward a card game motif, with aces being the high cards. Robert was trying again to apply for long term credit, which his business needed.
80/8/ = Ben McAdams said " They got photographs . . must have used infra-red film . . . " Ben McAdams was the PCA Loan Officer, and lived in Bullitt Co. John was present for this conversation.
80/10/ = Robert was sleeping one night in the upper north bedroom at the farm. He awoke suddenly and saw a blue tinkerbell flash around his room. He arose and looked outside for Dalrymple and a blue-tipped flashlight. He did not realize until later that this is a clinical symptom of LSD. There was no television or radio to listen to at the time. This was the only experience in his life similar to that.
80/10/ = Pretty clerk at UnivLou Convenient. RSusan knocked you to Arletta, Arletta knocked you down to all her type . . . "
80/11/ = Robert hauled several loads of soybeans to Gold Proof Elevator and a worker there said = "your goody two-shoes ". Someone was either trying to get Robert or was trying to make it look like they had tried.
80/11/19 = Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service meeting.
80/12/ = Dominic Grisanti, of the family nearby in Fern Creek. " The Catholics always do it to the Baptist....".
80/12/ = Robert had been keeping records of what people said to him on tape. He misplaced the originals, and made a second set. He delivered these 6 hours of tapes to the FBI, on 23 Dec. 1980. He felt that he could relay more information and facts this way, and also give the RlistenerS a better chance to allocate their time more wisely. The original tapes turned up later, and this volume is based upon their content, which was recorded as events happened, at least part of the time.
80/12/ = The dozer was disassembled and the sheet metal sandblasted, painted, and rewelded at the end of the year.
80/-7?/ = M___i arrives at the farm unannouncer, tries to get
Robert to kiss her and grabs/gropes his crotch, either to inspect for
or cause arousal. - *warning* Any further threats to try to use her
twenty-six YEARS later as extortion to get Robert to "drop" civil
litigation will be countered with the criminal complaint of attempted
extortion. It is a crime to threaten criminal action to stop differing
civil tort action. (exact date uncertain, but certainly after moving there, and after her marriage.)

The 1980 crop of soybeans cash-flow is itemized below. The
following debts were
paid out of the 1980 crop. This list leaves no doubt that all
money was accounted
for in this crop year. No frivolities were included in this tight
budget. The beans
brought in $17,778.24, since they averaged $8.86@ bu. and the
left-over beans
