
Deeds of the Hedges Farm

"The Hedges Farm", consisting of the original 259.5 acre tract initially purchased from Alex McClure by Robert W. Hedges and recorded in Spencer Co. Deed Bk. B, pp.379-380, dated May 1, 1830, and Deed Bk. C pp.319 & 408, dated 1833; and the adjoining 98 acre tract originally purchased from James Gilbert by Robert W. Hedges and recorded in Deed Bk. D, p.381, dated 1837; and the adjoining 26 acre tract purchased from J. Thurman by Robert C. Hedges and recorded in Deed Bk.R, P.90, dated 1880, then totally consisting of 383.5 acres be it more or less, less the sell-off of 27.07 acres recorded in Deed Bk. 53, p.292 and Deed Bk 54, p.606, and less a sell-off of an approximate .5 acre corner recorded in Deed Bk. 52, p. 244 which was attached to a tract of 38.28 acres not otherwise herein noted, dated 1965, and less a Kentucky State R/W of approximately three acres for a 50' State Highway, and an 18" passway recorded in Deed Bk 27, p.577 dated 1906, of approximately one-half acre for a total of approximately 352.5 acres remaining in the said "Hedges Farm", having descended by several conveyances unto the party of the first part, the last conveyances being by J. B. Hedges unto Houston Hedges by deed dated Nov. 4, 1926, and recorded in Deed Bk. 36, p.466, and the same land conveyed by A.T.Beard, Commissioner by deed dated Nov. 11, 1931, and recorded in Deed Bk. 39, p.158 to Houston G. Hedges, et al, and the interest conveyed by Mary Hedges Cook and husband by deed dated Mar. 19,1960, and recorded in Deed Bk. 50, p.636, unto Houston G. Hedges, and an interest conveyed by Ella C. Hedges by deed dated Jan. 2. 1963, and recorded in Deed Bk. 52, p.243 unto Houston G. Hedges, as recorded in the Clerk's Office of Spencer County, Kentucky.
