RE: Conversation on Sunday 28/10 in Library
The group of people involved in the conversation were Sally Snyder, Carol Binkley, Robin Gelbach and myself.
As we were working we were discussing various types of men and their egos. Robert Hedges came up and sat down at the table in front of me to finish some paperwork. He interjected some comments in defense of men.
He finished what he was doing and then walked next to Sally, and made the comment "the prettier the woman, the bigger the ego". He then walked to the back of the library. A few minutes later he left for lunch.
After he left, Sally started talking about the remark he had made and the fact that he was "in her face" when he said it. She was upset. I listened to her and talked to her for a few minutes before I left to get a soft drink. As I walked out of the library I noticed Robert Hedges standing to the side of the library door, either listening or waiting for something. When he saw me he went outside. I went and got my soft drink and acme back and told Sally that he'd been listening and maybe he wanted to talk to her.
Sherry Underwood - 30/10/1990 - for formal proceedings
Yes, I joined a conversation, after seating myself to do some work which I enjoy here at the census.
Sunday 28 October. I stated "pretty women have egos too", not a statement about comparative sizes of egos.
Sally responded with "they do not have egos". as a last word, and the conversation ended.
I know nothing about any time sequence around the sliding library door {{ these girls can imagine all sorts of events }} , or any of their conversations around any of this group of deponents Sunday.
